Politically

Campaign against public money supporting fossil fuels ( a fraction of the tax breaks oil companies get could fund the arts many times over for example ) Challenge oil industry sponsorship.
Demand immediate cessation for public and private funding for new oil projects.
Lobby your MP

Personally

Stop investing in fossil fuels - move your bank account to a green provider.
Question the investments of your / your workplace's insurance and pension companies and suggest they move away from fossil fuel investment.

Education

Politically

Oppose big-oil dominated career choices
Kick big oil off campuses

- challenge their careers talks and dent their graduate intake
Challenge officiallinks betwen your university and oil companies.
Demand courses and research funding which support and develop renewable energy.
Get your university to switch to green electricity.

Personally

Loads of stuff to do from joining action campaigns to getting involved with permaculture projects.

Writing newsletters for youre colleger,student union newspaper articles etc.

Call for more cycle lanes.

Campaign for oil workers to be reskiled in reneweables
Call for low impact building initiatives.
Take direct action against roadbuilding, airport expansion schemes, oil companies, etc. Earth First UK

Personally ( Reduce - Reuse - Recycle)

Cut your carbon consumption at home
Switch to renewable Power
Food: Join an allottment project or grow in the garden
if you have one ( less food-miles, packaging etc.) or buy local. Get out of the takeway habit.
Get a cycle
Choose alternatives to flying ( carbon credits are not equivocable)
Use public transport ( yes it needs to be cheaper )
Buy Organic
Use enviromenttally friendly ( DIY ) alternatives to cleaning chemicals,etc.
Learn about permaculture.
Avoid disposable goods
Cut down shopping. Do you really need it? Think DIY culture.
In winter wear more clothes or get / make better insulation.
Work locally

Taking action on the oil web cannot be done alone.
Make these issues locally relevant through linking with other groups.
